I'm not 100% positive, but the jr. karts go up to age 14. My son had to use a bigger kart but I'm not sure if it was an adult or just a bigger sized jr. He never drove before and he had no problem with speed or control. You can always call and ask them if there are adjustments that can slow a bigger kart down.
