The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees are back at Yankee Stadium on Saturday for Game 2 of their weekend series.

J.T. Realmuto followed the Yankees' ninth error in four games with a tiebreaking, three-run drive in a four-run seventh inning, lifting the Phillies over New York 12-5 on Friday night.

The New York Yankees acquired Amed Rosario in a trade with the Washington Nationals on Saturday evening, the teams announced. He provides depth as a player who has the versatility to play all around the infield. Rosario has started 20 games at third base and 13 games at second base for the Nationals this season.

To their credit, the Yankees — who are now 5 1/2 back in the division — are already getting aggressive ahead of the July 31 trade deadline. New York acquired Colorado Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon for two pitching prospects on Friday, and the 30-year-old is expected to make his Yankees debut on Saturday afternoon.

The New York Yankees' recent struggles continued on Friday night in a 12-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies that in which they committed two more errors, giving them nine in their last four games.

The Yankees have had a need for a third baseman since releasing DJ LeMahieu and moving Jazz Chisholm back to the keystone. As of late, manager Aaron Boone has used a combination of Oswald Peraza and Jorbit Vivas at the hot corner. Clearly New York, now 4 ½ games back in the American League East, was not satisfied with that arrangement.

Ryan McMahon is now a New York Yankee. The former Colorado Rockie recently shared that he had always dreamed of playing for the Yankees.
