"As long as I think there is an agreement, I don't want them going in, because I think that would blow it," Trump said of U.S.-Iran negotiations.

But President Trump cautioned that he does not want Israel to launch an attack while negotiations were going on.

The US State Department announced it would be partially evacuating personnel from the US embassy in Baghdad to "keep Americans safe, both home and abroad." That comes after US officials told CBS that they had been told that Israel was ready to launch a military operation in Iran and that US military positions in neighbouring Iraq could be the target of a retaliation by Tehran.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the body of Yair Yaakov and that of another hostage had been retrieved from Gaza.

Yair Yaakov was kidnapped by Islamic Jihad in the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks on Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. The other hostage will be named later, the Israeli military said.
