There seems to be no middle ground between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over ICC Champions Trophy. In the latest development, the BCCI has decided against accepting PCB’s demand of not playing their matches in India during ICC events.

A decision on the fate of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy could be made on Monday. Pakistan have reportedly agreed to host the tournament in a hybrid model.

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the PCB is ready to accept a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy, provided they get a written agreement from the ICC and the BCCI ensuring similar arrangements for Pakistan in future ICC events hosted by India.

Pakistan hopes it will get a fair deal on “equality” when the International Cricket Council virtually meets on Friday to finalize details for next year’s Champions Trophy.

The Champions Trophy will be held in February-March. However, the schedule of the tournament is expected to come out once the ICC meeting concludes.

It is yet to be decided whether such provisions are for the next three years or until the end of the current rights cycle in 2031

Champions Trophy has faced a new roadblock, with BCCI reportedly refusing to accept the hybrid conditions laid down by the PCB.

The BCCI reportedly has rejected PCB's partnership formula to solve the Champions Trophy deadlock. The PCB told ICC that they will only accept the hybrid model if BCCI agrees to the same for ICC events in India,

As of now, there has been no response from the BCCI but indications are that the Indian cricket board is not willing to accept adopting a hybrid model for their tournaments, citing no security issues in India.
