One person has died following a fire that broke out at a warehouse in East Oakland early Monday morning, firefighters said.

One person died in an early morning warehouse fire in Oakland, the Oakland Fire Department said Monday. The fire broke out at a building in the 10000 block of Russet Street just before 6 a.m. More than 40 firefighters responded and extinguished the flames. One person was found dead inside.

OAKLAND, Calif. - A person died on Sunday following an early-morning shooting near the Oakland Coliseum, police said. Gunfire was reported in the 5000 block of Coliseum Way, just before 5:45 a.m., police said. When the police arrived, they found a person had been shot; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
