Several inches of snow and some whipping winds are expected to to pound Rochester this week. Here's what to expect.

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – We start today in the 20s and finish in the 30s as snow moves in from the west. Expect snow showers Wednesday night into early Thursday to come in bursts, occasionally spitting out a few tenths of an inch here an there to add up to about an inch or so through Thursday morning.

Monday afternoon will bring additional lake-effect snow showers, while Tuesday’s snow will be more concentrated in the morning. After Monday’s snowfall, the lake-effect snow pattern is expected to persist into Tuesday,

"That's just a generic widespread aerial pressure going through, but we haven't gotten a chance to look that much into the snowfall amount yet for that day itself," said NWS meteorologist Steve Welch on Sunday.
