It has been a very rough five-year stretch for a franchise that dominated the NFL the first two decades of this century. The New England Patriots have finished with a losing record four of the past five seasons, and are coming off consecutive 4-13 campaigns and last-place finishes in the AFC East.

Diggs talked about Patriots coach Mike Vrabel being part of the impetus to sign with New England. He had met Vrabel during a Pro Bowl and was impressed. The wide receiver recited chapter and verse about Vrabel, and the importance of him being a former player.

The Patriots finally addressed their offense in free agency, signing veteran wideout Stefon Diggs and Mike Vrabel believes in the receiver.
