A beloved spot for outdoor basketball in Pueblo is back open and ready for pick-up games. The Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department held a grand re-opening ceremony for ‘The Slab’ basketball courts.

What to know about the history of 'The Slab' The area currently occupied by the Slab, 2709 N. Elizabeth St., began serving as the site of a Veteran's Memorial in 1937.

Pueblo Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with other city agencies, is preparing for the grand re-opening of The Slab.

A 4-inch slab, for example, can cost anything from $0.50 to $1 less than a 6-inch slab. Cost by Project Concrete slab projects can vary significantly in cost.
