Like it did for prestigious private universities, the administration has cut off federal grants for UCLA, alleging it failed to address antisemitism. The UC system must tell the DOJ by today whether it wants to negotiate.

UCLA and University of California officials said Monday that it will negotiate with Trump over $339 million in medical and science grant freezes.

The Trump administration has frozen hundreds of science, medical, and other federal grants to UCLA worth nearly $200 million, citing allegations that the university discriminated in admissions and failed to “promote a research environment free of antisemitism,” the Los Angeles Times reported.
