Max has dropped the original Warner Bros. cartoons from its lineup, which our TV critic says leaves us with the pastiche and is similar to removing books from a library.

If Looney Tunes is the ever-revolving sign switching between Bugs Bunny’s “duck season” and Daffy Duck’s “rabbit season,” Warner Bros. Discovery is the befuddled hunter pulling the trigger on those wascally old shorts.

No other streaming service had prioritized history in that way — but all good things must come to an end, and so, too, has the era of classic Looney Tunes on Max.
