No one from the family of Trent was in attendance. Police say Trent had made a quick stop at the Fred Meyer at 1111 N.E. 102nd Avenue, in the Hazelwood neighborhood, when he saw the woman being robbed, tried to help and was fatally shot around 4 p.m.

Portland police have arrested two teenagers, accusing them of killing a man who was trying to stop a robbery outside a Northeast Portland Fred Meyer earlier this month, as well as another teenager accused of another robbery,

Two teenagers are in custody for allegedly killing a man who tried to stop a purse-snatching in a Fred Meyer parking lot Jan. 13, police say. Officers declined to identify the two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, but said they were being held on murder and robbery charges stemming from the death of 47-year-old Jonathan Trent.

The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) identified the victim in Monday’s deadly robbery at a northeast Portland Fred Meyer.

After responding to a report of a robbery and "shots fired," Portland police said they found a man lying on the ground. His death has now been ruled a homicide.
