Radharamn Das, spokesperson for International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Kolkata, on Monday claimed that the advocate defending Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das is currently struggling for his life.

Bangladesh court will hear the bail plea of Hindu priest Chinmoy Das, who was arrested on sedition charges last week. In the UK, King Charles III and Queen Camilla will welcome host Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for a state visit.

A lawyer representing Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu monk arrested and accused of sedition in Bangladesh, has been brutally attacked, according to the ISKCON. However, several lawyers in Bangladesh have denied any such incident took place.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has strongly dismissed claims that it has distanced itself from Chinmoy Krishna Das, the Hindu monk who was recently arrested in Bangladesh. The organisation reaffirmed its support for Das and called for the protection of Hindus and their places of worship in the country.

The ban was reportedly imposed in a letter issued by ISKCON’s CPT in the UK on October 6 last year. The organisation maintained that the ban has not been lifted as of now.

Iskcon organized a peaceful gathering at Hare Krishna Temple in Bhadaj, Gujarat, to show solidarity with its devotees in Bangladesh. The event condemned incidents against Hindus and ISKCON followers,

ISKCON clarified that Chinmoy was removed from all positions long ago due to violations of organizational discipline.

"We strongly protest such arrests and appeal to the Bangladesh government to give protection to minorities,” claimed Radharamn Das, the vice-president and spokesperson of ISKCON.

Iskcon Bangladesh’ general secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari said monk Chinmoy was removed from all positions within the organisation long ago due to a breach of organisational discipline.
