Lewis Hamilton said he “should have been on pole” but “didn’t do a good enough job” as he could only qualify 10th on the grid for Saturday night’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton paced both of Thursday night's practices at the Las Vegas Grand Prix just two weeks after one of the worst races of his career. The Mercedes driver was despondent over his performance in Brazil when he intimated after the race he wasn't even sure he wanted to finish the final three races of the season.

Lewis Hamilton led George Russell to a Mercedes one-two in first practice at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Hamilton headed Russell by 0.396 after they traded fastest times at the end of the session, having set the pace throughout the hour.
