A bill approved 23-9 by the Ohio Senate Wednesday would significantly overhaul a citizen-initiated statute that 57% of voters approved in 2023 to legalize recreational cannabis in Ohio. Senate Bill 56,

The bill would limit home-grow from 12 plants to six plants, reduce the THC levels in adult-use marijuana from 90% to 70%, and ban public consumption. The Ohio Senate passed a bill Wednesday that aims to significantly change Ohio's marijuana law.

SB 56 strictly prohibits smoking cannabis in public, limiting Ohioans to partaking in private residences, and reduces home grow from 12 plants or less to six plants.
