Meow Wolf — which runs a psychedelic string of immersive art exhibits across the country — has announced plans to build its first East Coast outpost, at Pier 17 in the South Street Seaport neighborhood of Manhattan, with an opening set for 2027 or 2028.

Meow Wolf, the iconic immersive exhibit that started in Santa Fe and has taken over Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas and Houston, is coming to New York City with a permanent spot at Pier 17 in The Seaport, which will be the exhibition’s first East Coast location.

Meow Wolf officials announced the exhibition, which will be located at Pier 17 in the historic Seaport, at South by Southwest in Austin on Monday.

The company, which started in Santa Fe, already runs popular art spaces in Las Vegas, Denver, Texas and Santa Fe.

Meow Wolf, the regional art collective that began in New Mexico, is going national. The company revealed on Monday that its seventh permanent exhibit will be in New York City. That will be the company’s first permanent exhibit on the east coast.
