Democratic senators are urging President Joe Biden to extend temporary protections for migrants in the U.S. before he leaves office

A group of Senate Democrats is pressing President Biden to work to "protect immigrant families" in the final weeks of his presidency.

Senate Democrats are upping the pressure on the Biden administration to take proactive action and protect hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants in the United States from possible deportation under President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, has outlined the incoming administration's mass deportation plans over the course of 20 media interviews.

The Senate Judiciary Committee holds hearing examining Trump's mass deportation plan for migrants when he officially takes office.

The letter said putting Kennedy in charge of the Department of Health and Human Services would “put the public’s health in jeopardy.”

Robert Kennedy Jr. should not be confirmed to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, over 75 Nobel laureates urged Monday. In a letter published by the New York Times, the esteemed scientists took issue with Kennedy's lack of experience and controversial stands.

"The leader of DHHS should continue to nurture and improve — not threaten — these important and highly respected institutions."
