The 27-year-old man who shot and killed four people at a Midtown office building on Monday carried a note in his pocket, police sources told ABC News.

A New York police officer, a “beloved” security guard, a young Cornell graduate and a senior executive with investment firm Blackstone were killed Monday when a lone gunman stormed a sprawling office tower in Midtown Manhattan and opened fire.

At least people were injured after a shooting near the Kids Dream Learning Center in Granada Hills on Tuesday afternoon. The Los Angeles Fire Department said they transported at least two people to the hospital. Their ages and conditions remain unknown.

Didarul Islam, 36, was a father of two, with a third on the way, and was working a second job as a security guard at the building where shots rang out.

An officer got to the apartment complex within minutes, according to a news release, but the girl died at the scene.
