India's vice-captain Shubman Gill has confirmed that Virat Kohli will be fit to feature in the second ODI against England in Cuttack. The announcement came after Kohli was ruled out of the first ODI in Nagpur due to a right knee injury.

Gill, who is set to be India's vice-captain even in the Champions Trophy, said India captain Rohit Sharma had told him to give his inputs without any hesitation

India went into the match without the talismanic Virat Kohli, who was unavailable because of a sore right knee, and at that juncture losing Yashasvi Jaiswal (15) and Rohit Sharma (2) cheaply was a recipe for disaster. But Gill batted sensibly and with Iyer playing a counter-attacking innings, helped India to safety.
