The project, which will be financially led by SoftBank and operationally by OpenAI, will see an immediate investment of $100 billion. Masayoshi Son will be the chairman of the company.

OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman is visiting Asia. On Monday, the company already announced a joint venture with SoftBank ( OTCPK:SFTBY) in Japan called SB OpenAI Japan, aimed at delivering advanced AI solutions to enterprises. Altman is also expected to reach India on Wednesday, where he intends to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
