DUBAI – Stefanos Tsitsipas won his first title in almost a year and broke a finals hoodoo as he cruised past Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-3 in the Dubai final on March 1. “There is nothing that ensured the win today, it was just pure fighting,” said Tsitsipas, after winning in one hour and 28 minutes.

Interviewed by Eurosport before the start of the Indian Wells Masters 1000, his fitness coach Frederic Lefebvre analyzed the hard work done by Stefanos in recent times: "I don't want to comment on the statements of my predecessor, but I can't deny that when Tsitsipas and I started working together he was not as fit as he is now.

Tsitsipas also broke the spell, conquering his first ATP 500 title after losing the first 11 finals! Novak Djokovic congratulated Stefanos on the title and joked with his rival. The Serb stated that no one beats Stefanos Tsitsipas 12 times in a row on ATP 500 level.
