The Chicago Bulls lost to the New York Knicks 113-111 in overtime Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, their fifth straight defeat and 14th in 18 games.
New York hosts the Chicago Bulls after Karl-Anthony Towns scored 44 points in the New York Knicks' 149-148 overtime win against the Atlanta Hawks.
“When Karl Anthony-Towns is on the court against any of the top-10 offenses in the league this season, the Knicks’ defensive rating is 127,” Tim Bontemps said. “The worst defensive rating in the league is 118. So to say that is bad is an understatement.”
The veteran scored 44 and 40 points, respectively, across his last two games against the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers, two defensively deficient teams. Enter the Chicago Bulls, who are 26th in defensive rating. Towns has absolutely had his way with the Bulls across two meetings this season, scoring a mind-boggling 90 total points.
