Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider spoke to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Tuesday. There, he gave several updates about the team, including the retirement news of future Hall of Fame tackle Jason Peters – who has now hired in a Player Engagement role with the Seahawks.

Geno's camp can point to the aforementioned fact that he's by far their best QB1 for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, the Seahawks can counter that Smith almost led the league in interceptions and he'll turn 35 years old around midseason - and the unavoidable obstacle that is their cap situation.

Seahawks GM John Schneider said they will meet with QB Geno Smith‘s representatives at the Combine this week to start talks on a new deal, per Bob Condotta.

Since then, Geno has shared a few posts suggesting he might want to move on, including a graduation photo in one Instagram post and another photo of Smith with former head coach Pete Carroll, who's now head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders and in desperate need of a QB upgrade.
