The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame have announced that former West Virginia University running back Steve Slaton and Marion County native Nick Saban are members of

West Virginia native Nick Saban, former WVU back Steve Slaton and ex-Ohio State coach Urban Meyer are among a 22-person 2025 Hall of Fame class.

The former WVU running back will be inducted in December along with WV native Nick Saban and former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer

Slaton is the seventh WVU player to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He joins Bruce Bosley, Major Harris, Sam Huff, Ira Errett Rodgers, Joe Stydahar and Darryl Talley. Head coaches Bobby Bowden, Frank Cignetti, “Greasy” Neale, Don Nehlen and “Doc” Spears also represent WVU in the Hall of Fame.
