The Trump administration said Friday that it's pulling $400 million from Columbia University, canceling grants and contracts because of what the government describes as the Ivy League school's failure to squelch antisemitism on campus.

The Roosevelt Hotel, which has been open for nearly two years as a main intake center for migrants, is set to close in the coming months, according to Mayor Eric Adams.

The judge had already ruled that the administration was not complying with his previous order requiring the government to keep disbursing money to states.

The death of Robert Brooks, an inmate who was beaten by guards at Marcy Correctional Facility, has been ruled a homicide. That has led to calls for inmate safety measures and facilitating the firing of corrections officers accused of wrongdoing.
