Astronomers have captured a new image of the asteroid 2024 YR4, which now has a 1 in 48 chance of hitting Earth in 2032.

This is not a drill. There is a chance - albeit a small one - that an asteroid could hit planet Earth within the next decade.

Asteroids that orbit close to the Earth inevitably cause us some anxiety due to the even remote possibility of a collision.
