Both the president of King Soopers and the union that represents the supermarket chain’s employees believe a strike is likely after union negotiators rejected the company’s contract offer. That’s where the agreement ends.

King Soopers workers in the Denver area will vote on whether to authorize a strike after contract negotiations failed. Votes are scheduled Jan. 29-Feb 1 in the metro area, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Broomfield and Pueblo. The union said specific times and locations for the vote are being given to grocery store workers directly.
