Democrats asked the homeland security secretary to testify about Senator Alex Padilla’s removal from a news conference and Trump’s immigration enforcement.
Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla was forcibly removed and pinned to the floor by federal law enforcement officers on Thursday after he interrupted a Los Angeles press conference of Kristi Noem, who was discussing the Trump administration’s response to the ongoing anti-ICE demonstrations.
The pair weren’t best pleased with an intervention from Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins regarding immigration raids.
Zero illegal immigrants were released into the U.S. in May, a 62,000 decrease from 12 months prior, according to Customs and Border Protection.
