At the same time, Windows 11—launched two years ago on Oct. 5, 2021—is seemingly stuck in the 20% range, with its market share barely increasing for almost all of 2023.

According to the October 2023 report, Windows 11 experienced a notable jump in its market share, climbing from 23.64% in September to 26.14% in October 2023.

That means Windows 11 is clawing back about 1% of market share a month, and it only has about 50 points left until it overtakes Windows 10. Doing some napkin math, that means sometime around 2027.

As Windows 11 rises, Windows 10 sees a decline in its market share. It has now fallen below 65 per cent, standing at 64.99 per cent, a drop of 1.06 points in one month.
