NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Students gathered to protest at Antioch High School less than one week after a deadly shooting on campus. Just before the school reopened Tuesday, students lined up along Hobson Pike holding signs protesting gun violence.

Police say a shooting at a Nashville high school has left one student dead and another woulded. Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron said during a news conference that the 17-year-old gunman later shot and killed himself with a handgun.

The Metro Nashville Police Department opted to permanently add a third school resource officer to Antioch High School as students return Tuesday.

Two local students were arrested in unrelated cases for making school threats Thursday. In the first case, Dorrian Harp, an 18-year-old student at Hunters Lane High School, allegedly admitted to telling another student in his class on Tuesday that he would shoot up the school the next day.

Threats against schools and institutions are taken very seriously by the MNPD. Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted.”
