Missouri head football coach Eli Drinkwitz made the announcement Monday, explaining the traditional spring game will not be held in the next two years due to construction on Memorial Stadium.

Mizzou is gearing up for its spring practice session, but fans should not expect a spring game for the Tigers this year.

Missouri football does not plan on holding a spring game in 2025 or 2026 due to ongoing stadium construction. Here is MU’s upcoming spring slate.

“Due to the Memorial Stadium Centennial Project construction impacts during each of the next two offseasons,” a news release from the program read, “Mizzou football will not be holding a Spring Game in 2025 or 2026.”

N.C. State is the latest major program to cancel the traditional event. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian recently announced on the Up & Adams podcast that the Longhorns would not host a spring game.

Missouri football will begin its spring practices later this week, but unlike in years past, there won't be an exhibition game at the end of spring ball.

The team will not be holding a spring game in 2025 or 2026 because of ongoing renovations to Memorial Stadium. Mizzou’s decision to forgo the scrimmage is unrelated to the trend of programs across the country opting to cancel spring games to prevent player tampering,

Mizzou Football announced its schedule for spring football camp on Monday morning. Practice begins on Friday, February 28 and continues through the end of March. In addition to 13 practices, the program also announced that there will be no spring football game for the public in both 2025 and 2026.
