Mass protests continued for a seventh night in Georgia on Wednesday triggered by the governing party’s decision to suspend negotiations on joining the European Union.

Local media in Georgia reported that police carried out raids targeting the offices of several opposition groups and non-governmental organizations.

A leader of one of Georgia's four main opposition parties was detained by police after being beaten unconscious in the capital Tbilisi, his party said on Wednesday. The Coalition for Change party published video on X showing an unmoving Nika Gvaramia being carried by the arms and legs by several men down a street.
