Katie Hong, a 16-year-old Korean American girl from Fremont, California, has been missing for nearly two weeks after leaving home to meet people she only knew from online chat platforms, and police are continuing to search for her with the help of her family and federal agencies.

A missing Fremont teenager who was described as being at risk was found safe Thursday afternoon, police said.

The family of a missing California teen is asking for the public’s help in locating her. Katie Hong, 16, went missing on July 25 and was last seen on surveillance video walking toward Irvington Community Park in Fremont.
