A rivalry rooted in over 100 years of tension, stemming from the sale of one of the greatest baseball players to ever live, Babe Ruth. The Yankees-Red Sox rivalry has seen a plethora of Hall of Famers square off in some of the most heated battles in the history of Major League Baseball.

The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees will meet for the third night in a row on Sunday Night Baseball for a decisive game three at Yankee Stadium.

It ended with Darryl Strawberry surrounded in the third base dugout by several Baltimore players, one of whom clocked Straw flush in the jaw. He had to be rescued by Joe Torre, who escorted the bloodied Strawberry back to the Yankees’ clubhouse.
