Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday announced the date of swearing-in ceremony of the newly-formed Mahayuti government in Maharashtra. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on December 5.

The Mahayuti government will take oath on December 5 at Azad Maidan, Mumbai, with Prime Minister Modi attending. The alliance, including BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, won 230 of the 288 assembly seats in the November 20 elections.

BJP on Saturday announced that the new Mahayuti govt will be sworn in on Dec 5 in what is being seen as a signal to Eknath Shinde to make up his mind fast about joining the govt led by Devendra Fadnavis.

BJP will assume Maharashtra's chief minister post with a swearing-in on December 5, amid discontent from Shiv Sena over the announcement's unilateral nature.
