Republican National Committee Treasurer KC Crosbie told fellow members Sunday night that she is running for RNC co-chair to replace Lara Trump, who said Sunday night she is stepping down from that post.

Lara Trump will step down as co-chair of the Republican National Committee as she considers a number of potential options with her father-in-law, President-elect Donald Trump, set to return to the White House.

Sen. Marco Rubio was recently tapped by the president-elect to serve as the next secretary of state. If Rubio is confirmed by the Senate to the role, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis would appoint a replacement until 2026. Trump told The Associated Press that she would “seriously consider” filing the seat.
