Parts of Scotland are bracing for a second day of disruption with high winds and localised flooding after Storm Bert swept heavy snow and rain across the country.

The Scottish government has urged the public to heed a Met Office amber warning for heavy snow for parts of Scotland during Storm Bert.

At 5am on Saturday, a yellow wind warning comes into force as Storm Bert touches down in Scotland, bringing gusts of up to 70mph and causing disruption in places. Areas around the coast are forecast to be worst affected.
