UAB gets big conference win over North Texas behind frontcourt duo
Led by their senior frontcourt duo of Yaxel Lendeborg and Christian Coleman, the UAB Blazers came up with an essential 64-61 conference win over North Texas, who they were tied with for second place in the American Conference prior to Monday’s matchup.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Yaxel Lendeborg scored 17 points to help UAB hold off North Texas 64-61 on Monday night. Lendeborg also grabbed 13 rebounds and had three steals for the Blazers (15-8, 8-2 American Athletic Conference). Christian Coleman had 13 points and eight rebounds.
North Texas falls in tight game at UAB, drops to third in AAC standings
Christian Coleman drew a foul and hit one of his two free throws for UAB to make it a three-point game with 20 seconds left. UNT again went to Lorient, who drew a foul and hit two free throws to pull the Mean Green within 62-61.
