North Texas public schools received mixed grades in the Texas Education Agency’s delayed 2023 accountability ratings, with Dallas ISD earning a “C,” while Fort Worth ISD was given a “D.”

Several major North Texas school districts, including Dallas, Arlington and Fort Worth, saw drops in their academic ratings from the TEA. The 2023 ratings are released following a two year legal battle.

Allen ISD, with a B in 2023 from an A in 2022, noted most of its schools scored A’s that year. But one campus fell below a 70, automatically capping the district to an 89, by TEA rules. Arlington ISD offered this explanation for its grade of C in 2023 from a B in 2022.
