United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 announced Saturday that, unlike the February strike by King Soopers workers, the Safeway/Albertsons walkout will begin on a more limited scale.

So far, striking is limited to Estes Park, Fountain, Pueblo and a Denver distribution center after UCFW 7 members did not reach an agreement with Safeway/Albertsons.

Workers at certain Safeway and Albertsons locations will begin striking on Sunday, in protest of what workers say are unfair labor practices, short-staffed stores, and frozen wages.
