Airbus SE won an order for as many as 50 widebody jets from Saudi Arabia’s new carrier, as the kingdom pours billions of dollars into turning the country into an aviation and tourism hub.

EADSY lands a major deal with Riyadh Air for 25 A350-1000 jets, reinforcing global demand for its fuel-efficient aircraft.

The deal, signed this week at the Paris Air Show, will further grow Riyadh Air’s fleet. The new Saudi Arabian carrier, which plans to make its first flight later this year, has previously ordered 60 Airbus A321neo narrowbodies and 39 Boeing 787-9 widebodies.
