HILLMAN, Mich. — Michigan wildlife experts finally were able to trap a black bear and remove a large lid that was stuck around his neck — for two years.

The bear had “significant scarring and an abscess on its neck,” according to a June 18 news release.

MONTMORENCY COUNTY, MI -- State wildlife biologists have freed a plastic lid from a black bear’s neck. They believe the bear has been living with the lid around it’s neck for two years.
