Sheffield United have completed the signing of defender Rob Holding from Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season. The Athletic previously reported that the 29-year-old defender was attracting interest from the Championship side.

Sheffield United are closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Rob Holding. The ex-Arsenal defender has been frozen out of the Palace first team and is now set to head to Bramall Lane until the end of the season.

Rob Holding has joined Sheffield United on loan for the rest of the season. The 29-year-old has played only once for Crystal Palace since signing from Arsenal in 2023 for £4m. In October, Palace manager Oliver Glasner said Holding was training individually following a disagreement.

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has joined Premier League rivals Crystal Palace on loan for the rest of the season. Left-back Chilwell, 28, has not made a Premier League appearance since April 2024 and was told last August he was not part of Enzo Maresca's plans.

Jeffrey Schlupp is leaving Crystal Palace to join Celtic on loan. The versatile midfielder is out of contract with the Eagles at the end of the season, so may have played his final game for Palace. The 32-year-old Ghana international will now undergo a medical ahead of finalising his move north of the border.
