Unfortunately for those expecting yuletide and merriment, Santa (voiced by Adam Pally, who plays Wade Whipple across the first two Sonic movies and the Knuckles series) has hurt his ankle and it's up to Team Sonic to save the day.

Sonic fans have been champing at the bit to see more of Shadow, who is already becoming a fast favorite. However, it looks like Sonic and his team will have a lot more than Shadow to worry about in the threequel as Sonic 3 adds Doctor Eggman's grandfather Gerald Robotnik (also played by Jim Carrey) to the mix.

Keanu Reeves says voicing Shadow in "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" gave him a special freedom to explore emotions and expression through voice.
