Khamzat Chimaev returned home to United Arab Emirates to a warm welcome from his community. Chimaev, who now calls Dubai home, delivered a lopsided performance against Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 319 this past Saturday in Chicago.

Khamzat Chimaev controlled Dricus Du Plessis for more than 21 minutes and set a UFC record for total strikes to win the middleweight title at UFC 319.

Chimaev, who has been billed as a future megastar since his UFC debut, finally captured gold at UFC 319, and the money followed. His payout from the event is believed to be between $1.8 and $2 million, the highest paycheck of his career so far.
