Aug 22, 2023 · Yeah this sub is missing the point of superhero fatigue. The Flash is a Dark Phoenix / F4 level flop where the movie is so immensily terrible that it was always going to bomb. But films like Quantumania, Blue Beetle, Shazam 2, these are just your standard cape flicks that if released in 2019 would have done absolutely fine numbers.

Superhero fatigue isn't real so much as bad Superhero movie fatigue is. General audiences won't show up for a mediocre Superhero movie these days like they maybe would've a couple years ago, but great movies still make bank at the box office. Nov 24, 2023 · So to cure superhero fatigue, Marvel and DC need to stop creating stories about X person with powers fights Y person with powers, loses to them, learns some valuable life lesson, and then triumphs in the end in a big CGI fight. For me it's less about Superhero Fatigue, more about the kinds of superhero stories getting told. Too many things tend to either follow the post-irony MCU formula or just go way to "cool and badass" for its own good. I'm tired of the whole "Superman, but evil" thing. I think what is missing from both of these styles is sincerity.
